Welcome to Deal For A Cause dot com! I've made some creative changes around here recently, can you tell what they are? Are have added sense, adsense that is. As and added measure, i am hoping that by putting advertisements on my blog it will help me earn revenue toward my goal of buying a home. Adsense works for bloggers because every time a visitor sees an add that sparks their interest and clicks that ad i will be paid a certain amount of money which varies constantly (could be .15cents, .93cents or $5 if i'm really REALLY popular). Anyways, just so you all know i'm not selling out, its not all about the money! Ok, well in this case maybe it is, but its more about buying a home than getting rich :0)
Sincerely,
Angie

Slow moving
I'm still here, having a bit of difficulty advertising my cause to people who would be interested. I am working on a totally new angle for the same cause though. I'm going to canvas to local advertisers and offer them ad space on a page i will be creating, i'll tell you all more about it later as i get closer to my goal.

Permits, Permits Permits
So i've been very busy today researching new avenues that i can take to promote my blog and other ways of my money for the house as well. In my search i started thinking to myself, "do i need permission for any of this?". I figured since i'm doing it online i'd be fine, cause isn't the internet kinda like international waters? Its hard to regulate it. Well anyways, some of my other plans that i have yet to set in motion include canvasing to actual business's and to sell ad space on a web page that i have yet to set up and apparently that might require a permit or fee, not sure yet. One guy told me that he thought it did, and gave me the number of the manager of another office, so i'll have to wait until monday to talk to her. There's another portion of my plan that requires me to get permission from the gaming office. Problem is that since i'm doing it on the internet, why should i have to pay the city anything at all??? When i could just as easily sell the ad space to other people, and give the prize to someone else? I should ask them, just maybe not put it like that, they might now respond well lol :o)
I got and email today from someone asking me for .50 cents, they had my paypal email address so it seemed kinda fishy to me since i'd received a few other emails at that address about fake donations, ya know the kind that want to send you a check and you send part of it to someone else through western union? I think its called a Nigerian scam. Anyways, this guy didn't want to send me money, he wanted ME to send HIM money. I found myself thinking that maybe this was just some kid poking fun at my fundraiser, case i ask for .50 cents and then he said the same amount and was all like "i really neeeed it!". So instead of telling him off, or ignoring him, i sent him .75 cents US funds (instead of Canadian money), wished him well and inquired what it was for. I figured i should just send it because otherwise the trickster might feel justified in his poking fun at me because i was to cheap to give someone .50 cents but i myself was asking it of others.
But to my surprise, i get an email back from a very thankful guy who actually sincerely did NEED it! He was .50 cents short for a game upgrade online and he'd already waited 2 weeks for the money to upload to paypal and had misjudged the Canadian/US exchange rate and was short .50 cents. If i hadn't have given it to him he would have had to wait another 2 weeks, totaling a whole freaking month. Now that SUCKS! (i've been there...) Anyways, good deed done, i was feeling pretty good about myself that i could help someone. Msde my hour actually. So thanks guy for making my hour!

New Name, Same Cause!
So we ran into a little problem yesterday with paypal and their feeing me out of one cent. Their fee's are 2.9% and another .30 cents on top of that, so in order for your donation to actually reach us it would have to be at least about .50 cents!
But i couldn't see calling the fundraiser "50 Red Cents!" so we gathered in our think-tank (living room) and thinked - or thought! And this is what we came up with.
We already offered something in return for your pennies, so we decided to expand on that and instead of focusing on just one penny, we're focusing on making a deal. What can i do for you to donate to our cause, what crazy thing can you think up that would be worth your money, .50 cents, $1, $2, $5, $20.....?
Lets gain so momentum and who knows, maybe you'll see me on tv like the Red Paper Clip guy!

Housten, We have a Problem!
I received a one sent donation today, (bless your soul!), and paypal charged me one penny for receiving one penny! Argh!!!! I can't believe it! Well i guess i can. Anyways, i am on the hunt for some new way to receive donations that will not just go to paypal. After all, we re not trying to buy PayPal a new home! If you have any idea's please leave your comment, i'm wondering if i need to change my name to Just 50 Red Cents!?
i called Paypal and this is what they told me. The Fee's are 2.9% and .30cents CAD. So i'll keep you posted!

I am taking offers, let me convince you to donate to my cause! Name your terms, what would you like for your money?? I'll draw you a picture, build a sand castle with your name on it then take a picture and post it, be creative, (but realist and not raunchy). Lets have fun with this!

You CAN Make A Difference!
Some People have being telling me that they don't think that their penny will help, that just one penny isn't much and that they don't see the point. Now, if everyone says that, they will make it true, it won't work. BUT if you believe that your One Red Cent will make a difference it will!
There is a little girl in my community with the whole of Vancouver Island on her side, she is collecting pennies for a cause and has a goal of one Million dollars. Guess what folks, she is nearly there in only 2 years! Just Pennies.
Now i'm not greedy, i don't need a Million dollars. Do i want it? Well yeah! Who wouldn't? But thats not what this is about, this is about buying a house in this crazy renters world. Can you believe that right now in my city it is $1300 on average to rent a 3 bedroom house?! How are you supposed to raise two kids and work and save enough money to buy a house before my hair is gray and the kids are all grown up? What kid of quality of like is that for a family?
Please Donate Just One Penny, i promise, you won't even miss it! Whats one penny? Nothing! But enough of them can really be something.
